Mangalore, Apr 20: A padayatra was taken by Congress leaders headed by former union minister Janardhan Poojary. It was flagged off from party election office in Nantoor on Friday April 19.

Addressing the media prior to the padayatra, Poojary said BJP released its manifesto today wherein they have mentioned that they will take the state towards change. Commenting over this he said BJP is only fit for destruction of the state and not in bringing about changes which has been proved in the past five years adding that they have divided their own party into three.

“BJP claims that their party is clean which is a bogus. Day by day we find ministers, MLA’s leaving the party,” he said.

About allegations made on JR Lobo, Poojary said it was baseless and added that most of the BJP leaders are unaware of law. In fact there are several allegations against BJP ministers like Nirani, Jagadish Shettar, DVS, he added.

Increase in corruption, rape and other immoral activities by BJP, the people have decided to support Congress in the election, he added.

When reporters asked about the arrest of Congress candidate Muniratna, Poojary said that the decision was well taken.

Congress leaders like Nagendra, Harikrishna Bantwal, Naveen D’Souza, Praveen Chandra Alva, TK Sudheer, Mithun Rai among others were present.
