Mangalore: VHP reiterates demand for construction of Ram Mandir

Mangalore, Mar 21: “Clear the path for the construction of Sri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya as discussed by the religious heads of various regions in the convention held at the ‘Maha Kumba Mela’,” said T A P Shenoy, Pranth secretary, VHP, Karnataka.
He was addressing a press meet held on Thursday March 21 in the city.
“A nationwide convention was held at the Kumba Mela on February 6 and 7, 2013, wherein religious leaders from all over the country had taken part. Four major important decisions were taken at the convention. They were - Way should be cleared for the construction of Sri Ram Mandir; high end efforts and plans have to be made to purify River Ganga and to maintain its purity forever; cow slaughter has to be stopped and cattle breeding has to be encouraged; atrocities against women has to be completely stopped and women have to be given protection,” he said.
"All the community members have been urged to follow these guidelines in the coming days and adhere to it so as to keep the society safe," he added.
"A firm decision to construct the Ayodhya Ram Mandir has to be passed in the Parliament. Nationwide awareness is needed for this agenda to be a success. For this, every Hindu community home should recite the Vijay Maha mantra ‘Sri Ram Jaya Ram Jaya Jaya Ram’ everyday starting from ‘Ugadi’ (April 11, 2013) to ‘Akshaya Trithiya’ (May 13). ‘Rama Yajnas’ will be held in various parts of the country for this purpose,” said Shenoy.
Leaders like Sudamshu Patnayak, South India associate secretary, VHP, Krishnamurthy, division secretary, VHP Mangalore division, Sharan Pumpwell, division convenor, Bajrang Dal, Mangalore division, and others were present.
