Udupi, Jan 22: The Gangolli police successfully arrested two individuals in connection with a house burglary that took place in Trasi village under the Gangolli police station limits on January 21.
According to the complaint registered at Gangolli police station, the burglary occurred between 10.15 am and 11.30 am. The complainant, Uday Poojary, reported that unidentified individuals broke into his house near Trasi Beach, Kundapur taluk, and stole a bag containing a gold necklace weighing 16 grams, a gold bangle weighing 16 grams, and three gold rings weighing 3 grams. The total value of the stolen gold was estimated at Rs 2 lac.
Under the guidance of PSI Harish R and with the efforts of police personnel Shantharam, Raju, Nagaraj, Raghavendra, Sandeep Kurani, Maruti Naik, and Dinesh, the investigation team gathered crucial information and traced the suspects. On January 21, at 8.00 pm, the police arrested the accused Vinayak (41), son of Narasimha, and Pramila (30), wife of Vinayak, both residents of Gujjadi, Kundapur.
The stolen items, including the 16-gram gold necklace, 16-gram gold bangle, and three gold rings weighing 3 grams, with a total value of Rs 2 lac, were recovered from the accused. Additionally, the TVS motor scooter (bearing registration number KA 20 EK 6304) used for the crime was seized.
The arrested individuals were produced before the court.
