Belthangady: 14th regional convention held at Badyar Church

Belthangady, Mar 20: "Every catholic individual primarily should identify his social rights as well as duty, and he should work for the development of the community through sacrifices, service and organization and within he should develop in politics," said Udupi dioceses bishop Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo.

He was addressing in the recently held 14th regional convention under the aegis of Mangalore Pradesh(R), Moodbidri region at the Badyar Church premises.

Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo as establisher of 25 year-old historical Badyar Church said youth should get into government jobs; even the parents should entertain them to write competitive exams like KAS, IAS exams.

"We should make more youth join politics. Every individual should know the common rights about the 'Adar Card' and voter id and our duties. We should serve the society with dedication, without being selfish and strengthen it". 

Moodbidri MLA Abbayachandra Jain, catholic Sabha Moodbidri regions president Velerian Sequeira, Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh(R) president Nigel Pereira, Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh(R) immediate past President Walter Cyril Pinto, Catholic Sabha Moodbidri Regions secretary Elsi D’ Souza, Badyar economical director Fr Felix Monterio, Fr James D'Souza, dean of Belthangady, Fr JB Crasta, Arun Serriao  and Rafael Wegan were present on the stage.

Uday Ervathur assistant professor of University College presented the talk on the ‘Role of minorities in Politics’ and explained role of youths in constructing good society.

On this occasion the winner of  ULB polls and achievers of the church were felicitated.

Fr JB Crasta offered a special mass on this occasion.

In the evening for the purpose of entertainment Arun Serrao organized a drama called ‘Mr Jesus’.

Rafael Vegus welcomed, Elisi D’ Souza read the report, Arvin D’ Souza and Bantwal Vibha compered the programme.
