Mangalore, Mar 19: The new academic block at St Josephs Engineering College known as Blessed John Paul II Block was dedicated to the college by Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore and president, SJEC on Tuesday March 19.
The ceremony was held in the seminar hall of the new academic Block at 9:30 am. Fr Joseph Lobo, director SJEC welcomed the guest and gathering. This was followed by blessing and prayer service lead by Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza.
On this occasion the contributors for the successful completion of the new academic block were felicitated. Praveen Saldahna, architect; Ujwal D’Souza, builder; Marian Infrastructure, Madhukar, project management consultant; Raghavendra, site-in-charge were felicitated by the president.
The power point presentation about the expansion of new building was presented. The new facebook page for the alumni known as ‘SJEC alumni’ was inaugurated by the president.
On this auspicious occasion the president of the college addressed the faculty members. Fr Rohith D’Costa and Fr Ajith Menezes, assistant directors, Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, principal were the other dignitaries on the dais. The dean, heads of the department, Faculty members and invitees were also present to grace this occasion.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Rio D’Souza, vice principal, SJEC.
