Mangalore, May 19: Ever since the founding of the Adarsh High School, Taccode 30 years ago in 1981, the standard of education in school has improved in leaps and bounds. The year 2011 made a historical record by obtaining 100% result in SSLC public examination held by the government of Karnataka. This year the feat is again repeated as Adarsh High School, Taccode obtained 100% result in SSLC public examination.
The school had started with a primary aim to educate the rural children of surrounding Taccode. The school had to go a long way of 30 years to get this honour of 100% result for the first time in the history of Adarsh High School last year.
The correspondent Mark Castelino who came to Taccode in May 2009 had aimed very high to get this 100% result at Adarsh High School. Ever since he took charge of this school as correspondent, a fresh lease of enthusiasm and energy came to be part of students and teachers for aiming higher.
As per the guidance and encouragement of the correspondent, the school staff also took it as a challenge for the past three years by taking extra teaching classes beginning from June itself. One month before the exam, the school staff also began to reside in the school and began to give special classes even at late evenings. It was a laborious task to provide evening tea, eatables, night meals, morning breakfast and lunch to the students. The headmistress, along with the staff took a lot of pain to guide the students who were preparing to appear the SSLC examination.
A majority of students of this school are from economically poor families.
