Mangalore: Mandd Sobhann Presents 125th Monthly Theatre

Mangalore, May 8: The 125th 'Mhuynalli Maanchi' or monthly theatre by Mandd Sobhann was presented at Kalaangann here on Sunday May 6.
Mandd Sobhann gurkar Eric Ozario briefed on all the 124 monthly theatre presentations that have taken place until now.
Patron of Kalaangann and director of executive committee Ramesh Francis Naik Bandhodkar released a prayer leaflet to wish well for the theatre shows here.
When the gurkar of Mandd Sobhann requested for financial aid to support monthly theatres, Kalaangann executive committee chairman Ronald Mendonca who shared the dais, promptly granted an amount of Rs 25,000.
"All the 125 monthly theatres in Kalaangann were presented well with tremedous support from the people. The committee of Mandd Sobhann plays an essential role in organizing this show and people should support this venture by becoming benefactors," said Ronald Mendonca.
Roy Castelino, Mandd Sobhann president Stany Alvares, Louis Pinto and Elias Fernandes, owner of Four Winds were present on the occasion.
As part of the 125th monthly theatre, ‘Asllo Eklo Cha Fra’, an experiment on plays of the legendary Konkani dramatist and playwright Cha Fra was staged. The play was conceived by Arunraj Rodrigues and directed by Ni Na Sam Christopher D’Souza, with music by Eriz Ozario.
Monthly theatre is the most regular activity at Kalaangann which is put up on the first Sunday of every month. The shows include the best of music, songs, dances and Konkani folk arts.
