Mogaveera’s Association Kuwait holds ninth annual general body meeting

Salmiya, Jan 21: The ninth annual general body meeting of Mogaveera’s Association Kuwait (MAK) was conducted on January 3 at Salmiya.

Smitha Lakshmish Kumar who was an excellent host for the day, welcomed all the MAK members to this event. As it is customary and traditional, the proceedings of the MAK AGM commenced with Kuwait and Indian National Anthem followed by a prayer song rendered by Santhosh Kunder.

The lighting of the lamp was done by the MAK 2024 management committee president Poonam Mendon, convenor Ramesh Kidiyoor, Suresh Salian, senior members Gopal Suvarna and Sudesh Puthran.

The general secretary, Pooja D Kanchan read the annual report of the activities of the association of the year 2024, while the treasurer Sudhakar Puthran read out the financial report of the year, both of which were approved by the members. All members of the MAK committee welcomed the new year by cutting a cake.

The inauguration of the flyer for the national level volley ball and throw ball tournament under the title of “MAK Champion trophy 2025” was done by Ramesh Kidiyoor, Kavitha R Kidiyoor and MAK management members.

Some of the major events of 2024 were as follows: MAK organized its 7th National level volley ball and throw ball tournament under the title of “MAK Champion Trophy 2024” which was held on February 25 at Aspire Bilingual School Abbasiya.

MAK conducted Ganesh Chaturthi programme for the second time on September 13 at Salmiya. A soulful environment was created by Bhajan team headed by Suresh Salian along with other MAK members followed by Pooja and Arathi with delicious Prasadam and lunch.

As part of the welfare project :

1) Scholarship of Rs15,000 was given to first three meritorious students of Mogaveera community of Mahalaksmi English Medium School.

The names of the top 3 students are as follows:

a)Preeth R Kotian -566(90.56%)
b)Booshan V Suvarna- 527(84.32%)
c) Tanusha S Suvarna-520(83.20%)

2)Scholarship of Rs15,000 was given to first three meritorious students of Mogaveera community of Sagar Vidya Mandir ,Beach Road, Padubidri.

a)Kasvi L Mendon -567(90.72%)
b)Varun D Salian -564(90.24%)
c)Srujan C Mendon -561( 89.76%)

3) Scholarship was given to 3 children of MAK members :

a)Buvan Puthran s/o Srinivas Puthran – 12th standard - INR 12000/
b) Kunal s/o Manjunath – 10th standard - INR 10000/
c)Daiwik s/o Dinish Suvarna – 10th standard - INR 10000/

President Poonam Mendon welcomed all the members & thanked everyone for their continued support. She also assured that she would also support and work towards the betterment of the committee.She requested everyone to provide continuous support even for the upcoming year.

The returning officer, Kavitha Kidiyoor announced the new management committee for the year 2025.

The office bearers for 2025 are as follows:

President: Poonam Mendon, Bolar, Mangaluru.
Vice president: Pundarika Kanchan,Yermal, Bada.
General secretary: Smitha Lakshmish Kumar, Malpe
Treasurer: Sudhakar Puthran, Kidiyoor.
Cultural secretary: Prashanth Kunder, Malpe.
Sports secretary: Amrith Raj Suvarna, Udyavara.
PRO & welfare officer : Santhosh Kunder, Uppoor.

The management committee members introduced themselves, thanked and assured all the members for rendering their best service during their tenure.

Executive committee of 20 members were announced by the president who are as follows: Sachidananda Suvarna, Suresh Salian, Dr Vikyath Boloor, Kavitha Kidiyoor, Kiran Kumar, Dinesh Suvarna, Kusum Girish , Ranjitha Pundarika, Rajesh Salian, Rakshith Suvarna, Srinivas Puthran, Lakshmish Kumar, Nishanth Salian, Pooja Kanchan, Nithin Suvarna, Lohith Karkera, Manoj Amin, Nithesh Karkera,. Laxman Ambiga, Guna Chethan.

The following welfare Projects will be continued as informed by the president:

-Death grant of Rs 1,00,000/-in case of death of any active member, financial help will be provided to the next kin of the deceased.

-Financial help (health grant) of Rs 25000/-Will be given to the members in case of serious health issues or permanent disability or severe injury due to accident.

-Merit Cum Means Scholarship-Children of MAK members residing in Kuwait or India would be awarded Scholarship of Rs 10000/-for 10th standard Students & Rs 12,000 for 12th standard students.

Scholarship for Mogaveera Management School in India:

President, Poonam Mendon, also announced that scholarship of Rs 15,000 would be awarded to the first three meritorious students respectively for the year of 2024-2025, for the following schools of the Mogaveera Community.

Mahalakshmi English Medium School, Uchila and Sagar Vidya Mandir, Beach Road, Padubidri.

Convenor Ramesh Kidiyoor congratulated the new committee members and also urged everyone to get innovative and strengthen the members of the community in Kuwait by always staying united.

Melodious songs were sung by Baby Ashwitha Suvarna, Suresh Salian, Pundarika Kanchan, Santhosh Kunder, Sudesh Puthran & Dinesh Suvarna and not to forget the beautiful dance presented by Baby Ashwitha.

As a part of entertainment program, games were conducted by Suresh Salian, Pundarika Kanchan and Kiran Kumar. Delicious food was served by Shahi Tandoori Restaurant, Hawally. Lucky Mogaveera Trophy of the lucky draw was won by Laxman Ambiga. Photography was done by Nishanth Salian and Lohith Karkera. In her vote of thanks, Pooja Kanchan expressed her gratitude to each and every member who supported to make the event a successful one.
