China Busts Noodle Mafia

Beijing, Apr 27 (IANS): A gang that controlled supplies to a well-known snack store chain has been broken up in China's Guangzhou city, a media report said Friday.

The gang used violence and intimidation to control the supply chain, reported China Daily citing chinanews.com.

As many as 59 gang members have been arrested for monopolizing food materials sold in Shaxian Snacks in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province.

The store owners would be beaten if they refused to buy noodles and dumpling wrappers from the gang.
