Puttur, Apr 26: A delegation of veteran BJP leaders will meet the high command in New Delhi to try and resolve the crisis in the state BJP party leadership.
The delegation is slated to meet the senior national BJP leaders next week.
The question is not about the leadership tussle between Yeddyurappa or Sadananda Gowda, but the smooth functioning of the government which is our priority, said former MLA Ram Bhat who will lead the delegation.
"The government should be allowed to tackle the drought situation without any problem. The MLAs who are expressing their support to former chief minister Yeddyurappa are creating a situation of instability in the government. The veteran leaders of the party cannot tolerate it, and hence we have decided to meet the high command," he said, adding that they have only the interest of the party at heart.
He also assured that though the senior BJP members are disappointed with the current situation, they will not leave the party or form a new one. "It is our aim that BJP runs the government well and comes to power in the next election also," he added.
