Mangalore, Mar 30: Community Health Nursing Department of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing observed World TB day on Friday March 30. The programme was inaugurated by Dr Ramakrishna Rao, distict tuberculosis officer.
During his inaugural session, he stressed on the role of each individual to work towards elimination of TB. The programme was presided by Ashritha P Shetty, director, LMET. Jenifer D’Souza HOD, Community Health nursing department welcomed the gathering.
The key note address was rendered by Dr Larissa Martha Sams, principal of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing.
The theme for the year 2012 “Stopping TB in My Lifetime” was unveiled by Vinutha D’Souza, associate professor community health nursing department.
As a part of this programme a quiz competition was conducted for the students of the college. The students actively participated in the quiz and won prizes.
