Mangalore: Health Camp Organized by Dr M V Shetty College of Nursing

Mangalore, Mar 17: Dr M V Shetty College of Nursing organized a health camp in Surathkal to mark their 25th year on Saturday March 17.

The chief guest for the occasion was Gulzar Banu, Mayor, Mangalore City Corporation. Dr M Ramgopal Shetty, founder secretary, Dr M V Shetty Memorial trust, presided over the function and Prof B V Kathyayini, principal, Dr M V Shetty College of Nursing was also present.

After the invocation, Jayalatha Sampath, lecturer, welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. The dignitaries inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. Gulzar Banu, while delivering the inaugural address said that the public must avail all the facilities available and to take full advantage of this opportunity. She also wished the programme a grand success.

Prof B V Kathyayini while delivering the keynote address spoke about the establishment of the institute in brief and later told about the various free medical check-up available to the public.

Dr M Ramgopal Shetty gave the presidential address and said, he thought of this camp as people can avail all the facilities under one roof. He also plans to continue this every year.

Subrahmanya Nayak, associate professor, college of nursing delivered the vote of thanks.

After the inaugural function concluded, the health camp began in full swing. The departments which participated in the free health camp were surgery, medicine, ophthalmology, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, physiotherapy, speech and hearing, counseling (MSW) and medical lab technology. An exhibition also was organized regarding health awareness.
