Kolkata, Mar 6 (IANS): Indian Premier League franchise Kolkata Knight Riders announced Monday they have roped in sports psychologist Rudi Webster, who managed the West Indies side led by Clive Lloyd in the 1970s, as its mental skills coach.
The Grenada-based Webster has done pioneering work in the mental component of performance and the mental conditioning of athletes, according to a KKR statement.
Webster has also worked with the national cricket teams of Sri Lanka and India.
Commenting on Webster's appointment, KKR Chief Executive Venky Mysore said: "I am sure he will add to the strength of the terrific support staff we have and play an important role in taking our side to the next level of performance."
