Mangaluru, Apr 26: Lawyer, former DySP, and president of the Bharatiya Janashakthi Congress, Anupama Shenoy, has alleged the involvement of the PFI in the murder case concerning retired DGP and IGP Om Prakash, and has demanded an NIA probe.
She stated that Om Prakash’s wife, Pallavi, had mentioned in a WhatsApp message that he had contacts with PFI members and criminals. She emphasized the need to trace whether PFI cadres were recruited into the police department during Siddaramaiah’s government, and to investigate whether there was pressure to induct PFI members into the department.

“I have observed several discussions about the mental health of Pallavi and her daughter, and the police are investigating according to the statements of the chief minister and home minister. Why are the police not trusting a mother who has clearly stated that her daughter had no role in the matter?" Shenoy questioned.
"There is no evidence, no CCTV footage, and no witnesses to support the claim that Om Prakash’s wife murdered him. It appears to me that PFI members were involved in threatening his wife and daughter, and orchestrated the murder of Om Prakash. They then coerced his wife into confessing and messaging another police officer’s wife, stating, 'I have killed the monster’," she alleged.
Anupama Shenoy further stated that Om Prakash’s son needs to stand by his mother and sister without succumbing to threats from the Congress government. She reiterated that the NIA must thoroughly investigate the case, especially regarding PFI’s involvement.
"I have sufficient evidence regarding PFI’s involvement and I can prove it 100%," she asserted.
She also drew parallels to the M K Ganapathy case, claiming that a similar situation had occurred where minority involvement was initially suspected, but later the blame was shifted onto the victim’s wife, and the case was closed.
