Shivamogga, Apr 26: BJP MLA S N Channabasappa has triggered a political storm by demanding that Robert Vadra, husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, be ‘shot dead’ over his remarks following the recent Pahalgam terror attack.
At a press conference in Shivamogga, Channabasappa accused Vadra of sympathising with terrorists and called his comments ‘treasonous’. His outburst drew immediate backlash, reviving memories of his previous arrest a decade ago for making hate-filled threats against then CM Siddaramaiah.

Referring to past political assassinations, Channabasappa accused the Congress of double standards and claimed the party is weakening national security. He also demanded aggressive action against Pakistan and called for the popular slogan ‘Bomb Pakistan, Flower Bharat Mata’ to become policy.
The MLA urged chief minister Siddaramaiah to support the Centre's anti-terror stance and backed Prime Minister Modi to ‘teach Pakistan a lesson’. He concluded with a controversial statement predicting a future war and asserting that India must remain a Hindu nation.
The comments came in response to Vadra’s statement linking communal divides in India to the rise in terror attacks. Karnataka home minister G Parameshwara refused to comment on the MLA’s controversial call for violence.
