Private bus catches fire on Bengaluru-Mangaluru highway; 25 passengers safe

Mandya, Apr 26: A major accident was averted after a private bus carrying 25 passengers caught fire on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru National highway near Kadabahalli in Nagamangala taluk early Saturday morning.

The incident occurred around 5 am when flames suddenly erupted in the moving bus. Alertness and quick action by the driver and staff helped evacuate all passengers safely before the fire spread.

As soon as the bus was stopped, it was engulfed in flames and completely gutted. Firefighters rushed to the spot and managed to extinguish the blaze.

A case has been registered under the jurisdiction of Bindiganavile police station.
