Ramakrishna hotel owner Subbayya V Shetty passed away at age of 92

Mumbai, Apr 17: A senior hotel businessman in Brihanmumbai, Ramakrishna Resorts Private Ltd, chairman Subbayya V Shetty (92) died at his residence, Ganga Bhavan Society, Ramakrishna Bungalow, Versova, JP Road, Andheri.

Originally from Udupi Bola in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district, he was a resident of Nandalika Srimata and was famous as a hotel businessman in Brihanmumbai nearly for six decades ago.

He was a social, educational and religious concern and was a driving force for the young people. He was the creator of hundreds of entrepreneurs and lacs of people have benefited from his help. He was very simple person and big donor of financial help for the marriage of poor families and other activities. He was popularly known as the last link of the old generation of Tulu Kannadigas in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

He left behind his wife, two sons and two daughters. Subbayya Shetty's final rituals will take place in the Chakala Cemetery of Andheri East. Hundreds of dignitaries and many organizations have expressed condolences. His huge number of fans, well-wishers and heads of various organizations took a final glimpse and comforted the family.
