Panaji, Apr 15: Former Congress president Girish Chodankar, in an unexpected admission, acknowledged the failure of the opposition in effectively challenging the ruling government, lauding Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for his masterful floor management in the state assembly.
Chodankar's remarks came as he praised the Chief Minister's political acumen in managing the legislative floor, a skill that he said contributed significantly to the opposition's inability to make substantial headway. "The opposition has faltered largely due to the perfect floor management strategies employed by CM Sawant," Chodankar stated, underscoring the BJP-led government's control over legislative proceedings.
This admission sparked a reaction from Congress in-charge Anjali Nimbalkar, who distanced herself from Chodankar's comments, while AAP MLA Venzy Viegas raised questions about who exactly Chodankar was referring to when he mentioned the opposition's failure. Viegas, in his response, emphasized that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is currently the only force effectively challenging the BJP's dominance in Goa.
The exchange between the political leaders highlights growing tensions and differing viewpoints within the opposition as they grapple with the challenges of opposing the BJP-led government.
