Chandigarh, Apr 1: AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday reaffirmed his party’s commitment to making Punjab drug-free, calling it a mission that will unite every citizen in the fight against the narcotics menace.

Speaking at the AAP executive summit, Kejriwal urged party volunteers to take an oath to ensure Punjab is rid of drugs, asserting that collective resolve would make the mission successful.

"You are the ones who worked day and night to bring the AAP government to Punjab. Now, we have gathered for one mission – to wipe out drugs. If each one of us takes a pledge to eliminate drugs from Punjab, no force can stop us," he said.

During the event, AAP leaders and volunteers, led by Kejriwal, took a solemn oath:

"I am the true son of Punjab’s sacred soil. I am a dedicated volunteer of the Aam Aadmi Party. Today, I swear by the soil of Punjab that I will never consume drugs, and I will make every effort to keep my friends, family, and society away from drugs."

Kejriwal claimed that in the past month, unprecedented actions have been taken against the drug mafia, something Punjab has not witnessed in 75 years.
"Thousands of drug traffickers have been arrested in just one month. These were individuals whose very names instilled fear among the people. Today, they are behind bars, and their homes are being demolished by bulldozers," he stated.

He further revealed that large caches of drugs and illicit money have been seized, with funds traced back to hawala channels linked to Pakistan. Even hawala operators involved in the illegal trade are being arrested.

Issuing a strong message to drug dealers, Kejriwal declared:

"If anyone dares to challenge the police in an encounter, the police will not hesitate to take action. The message is clear: either stop selling drugs or leave Punjab."

The AAP-led Punjab government has intensified its crackdown on drug networks, aiming to root out the issue that has plagued the state for years. Kejriwal’s call for action reinforces the government’s stance on tackling the crisis with an iron hand.
