Jammu, Apr 1: A mine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday led to retaliatory firing from the Indian Army. The blast, occurring under suspicious circumstances in the Krishna Ghati (KG) sector, raised security concerns, though no casualties or damage were reported.
The army responded with firing, while investigations are underway to determine the cause of the explosion. This incident comes amid a prolonged anti-terror operation in nearby Kathua district, where security forces are intensifying vigilance after reports of three terrorists still being untraced.

Meanwhile, security forces continue to monitor the situation in Poonch, Rajouri, and other bordering areas, maintaining a dominant presence to prevent infiltration and ensure the safety of these vulnerable regions. Over 4,000 trained personnel are deployed across the forests and mountain tops in these areas to disrupt any hostile activities.
Authorities have assured continuous surveillance and 24x7 patrolling along the LoC to counter any future threats.
