Karkala, Apr 1: A two-day capacity building programme on strengthening assessment and evaluation practices was successfully conducted at Sri Bhuvanendra Residential School, Karkala, in association with CBSE CoE Bengaluru. The programme was aimed at enhancing teachers’ skills in modern assessment strategies.

Dr Manjunath A Kotian, secretary of Sri Bhuvanendra College Trust, was the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted the importance of skill enhancement for teachers, mentioning AI and ChatGPT as emerging tools that educators should embrace.

He emphasised that workshops like these play a crucial role in updating teachers’ knowledge, ultimately benefiting students’ academic outcomes. He also underscored the significance of strategic planning and patience in teaching. Dr Manjunath A Kotian appreciated CBSE and the school management for initiating such a valuable programme.

The event was presided over by K Venkatesh Prabhu, the school’s correspondent. He stressed the value of the teaching profession, stating that simple, committed, and dedicated educators are the true assets of the nation. He extended his best wishes for the successful completion of the workshop.

Sixty teachers from various CBSE institutions participated in the programme. The resource persons for the sessions were Abhilasha, principal of SMS English Medium School, Brahmavar, and Suresh Mahalingpur, principal of SSRVM, Mangaluru.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by the school’s principal, Prameela Kotian. Arati Achar compered the programme, while Babitha Shriyan delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries and participants.
