Sanjay Raut slams Ajit Pawar over loan waiver, demands resignation

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Mar 31: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut launched a scathing attack on Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, accusing him of reneging on promises made to farmers and women during the elections. Raut asserted that if Pawar could not deliver on the loan waiver and the promised Rs 2,100 financial aid to women, he should step down on moral grounds.

"Ajit Pawar, Eknath Shinde, and Devendra Fadnavis had assured voters of farm loan waivers and Rs 2,100 to their ‘beloved sisters’ before the elections. Now, Ajit Pawar has washed his hands of it. If he cannot keep his word, he should resign," Raut said.

Targeting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Raut challenged him to prove his commitment to the cause. "Shinde had vowed to fulfill these promises at any cost. If he is truly a Shiv Sainik, he should sit on a hunger strike in front of Ajit Pawar’s bungalow until farmers receive loan waivers and women get their promised financial aid," Raut added.

Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar, speaking in Baramati, admitted that election promises don’t always translate into immediate action. He assured that while the waiver may not be feasible at the moment, 0% interest loans would be provided to help farmers manage their financial burden.
