Mangaluru, Mar 14: Noted Tulu theatre and film actor Vivek Maduru (52), known for his exceptional comic timing and powerful performances, passed away following a heart attack at his residence in Maduru.
Vivek was residing with his wife Vedavati at his brother’s house in Maduru. Earlier, he had run a telephone STD booth, but after its closure, he assisted his brother by selling plastic household items at the family’s grocery store.
A professional comedian, Vivek had been a part of several renowned theatre troupes along the coastal belt. He also acted alongside some of the finest artists in the Tulu film industry, often referred to as Coastalwood. He was an active member of the Tulu Theatre Artists' Association and had been honoured by various organizations for his contributions to the performing arts.

His sudden demise has left the Tulu theatre and film fraternity in deep sorrow. Many artists from the stage and screen have expressed their condolences.
On the night of March 13, Vivek reportedly collapsed in the restroom. Later, while resting, he suffered a fatal heart attack.
