St Aloysius University students host event on Empowering Sustainable Menstrual Care

Mangaluru, Feb 25: The Department of Post Graduate Studies in Journalism and Mass Communication, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with Swarnaprana Wellbeing Institute, Mangaluru, organized an event focused on "Empowering Sustainable Menstrual Care" on February 25. The event took place at Canara High School, Dongerkery, Mangaluru, starting at 2 PM.

The event featured Shilpa Shastry as the resource person, who spoke on various topics related to sustainable menstrual care, including eco-friendly menstrual products, proper sanitary disposal methods, and breaking the stigma of menstruation. The event was attended by 6th to 9th standard students with the strength of 90 students.

Tapasvi Vachhani and Neha, students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, coordinated the event under the guidance of Bhavya Shetty, head of department, Journalism and Mass Communication, St Aloysius (deemed to be) University. This initiative not only educated attendees about sustainable menstrual care but also impacted on breaking stereotypes in the society.

On February 25, the Department of Postgraduate Studies in Journalism and Social Media, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with Swarnaprana Wellbeing Institute, Mangaluru, organized a program titled “Empowering Sustainable Menstrual Care.” The program was held at Canara High School, Dongarkeri, Mangaluru at 2 pm.

Shilpa Shastri participated in this program as the keynote speaker and spoke about eco-friendly menstrual products, proper sanitary disposal methods and breaking the stigma of menstruation. Students from class 6 to 9 participated in this program. There were a total of 90 students.

Tapasvi Vachani and Neha, students of the Department of Journalism and Social Media, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), organized the event under the guidance of Bhavya Shetty. The initiative not only provided information about sustainable menstrual care but also had an impact in breaking stereotypes in the society.
