Munich, Feb 25: Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl has a busy summer ahead, with key players Leroy Sané, Joshua Kimmich, and Eric Dier all nearing the end of their contracts in July.
Eberl made it clear that Bayern values Sané highly and is keen to extend his stay. “Leroy played very well [against Frankfurt], both offensively and defensively. He did a very good job. We know what we have in Leroy,” Eberl told Deutschen Presse-Agentur.
Kimmich’s contract situation is another major concern, with Bayern eager to secure his future at the club. “We have taken a clear position and now we have to see whether we can get it done. I can’t force anyone [to sign],” Eberl admitted. “We would like to see him as one of the faces of FC Bayern in the future, but it’s up to him to decide.”
Meanwhile, Eric Dier, who has impressed in his limited appearances, remains a question mark. “He played very well; we know the value of Eric Dier. If I extend all contracts and bring in three more players, I don’t know if the savings can still work,” Eberl told Abendzeitung’s Maximilian Koch.
With crucial decisions looming, Bayern will have to balance financial considerations with their ambitions to retain top talent.
