Patna, Feb 20: Congress National Women's President Alka Lamba launched a sharp attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, asserting that the ruling NDA government in the state will be ousted in the 2025 Assembly elections.

During her visit to Patna, where she received an enthusiastic welcome from Congress workers, Lamba declared that Nitish Kumar would not return as Chief Minister. She announced plans to hold a Bihar State Women's Congress Executive Meeting to strategize for the upcoming elections, emphasizing the party’s determination to strengthen its presence in the state.

Lamba outlined Congress’s plan for an aggressive statewide campaign, stating that she would personally visit every district and Lok Sabha constituency in the coming weeks. She criticized the Nitish Kumar government for its alleged failure to fulfill promises made to women, accusing the NDA of neglecting their welfare. She dismissed the alliance’s claim of securing 225 seats in the upcoming elections, drawing parallels to its underperformance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Expressing support for RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s proposed Mahila Samman Yojana, Lamba affirmed that Congress, as part of the coalition, would ensure comprehensive welfare measures for women once in power. She also addressed developments in Delhi, congratulating new Chief Minister Rekha Gupta while cautioning her about the challenges of the role, citing past leaders who struggled to complete their terms.

Lamba issued a strong warning regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill, threatening large-scale protests if the government fails to implement it in the upcoming Budget Session. She vowed that the National Women Congress would take decisive action to hold the government accountable on this issue.
