St Aloysius University empowers non-teaching staff with CPR training for workplace safety

Media Release

Mangaluru, Feb 13: The human resource department of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) organised a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training session as part of its Arogyavahini, a year-round health and wellness initiative by the university that aims to educate non-teaching staff on physical and mental well-being through expert-led sessions and interactive programmes.

This session aimed to equip non-teaching staff with essential life-saving skills, reinforcing the university’s commitment to workplace safety and emergency preparedness. The initiative is strongly supported by vice chancellor Dr Praveen Martis, who stresses the importance of equipping all staff members with essential health knowledge and emergency response skills to create a safer and healthier workplace.

Conducted by medical experts from Fr Muller Medical College, led by Dr Vishma K and assisted by Dr Priya, Dr Surya, and Dr Merwin, the session provided hands-on training in CPR techniques. Participants gained practical knowledge that could prove vital in emergency situations, with an interactive Q&A segment addressing key concerns.

HR chairperson Sahasra Rao and co-chairperson Dr Dinesh Nayak emphasised the importance of such training in fostering a safer work environment. Maria provided assistance during the session.

By conducting these health-focused programmes, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) continues to prioritise staff well-being and preparedness, setting a positive example for institutions seeking to enhance workplace safety.
