SMVITM holds FDP on 'Mastering Python: Emerging trends, innovations'

Udupi, Feb 4: The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in collaboration with ISTE, IIC, IEEE, and Kakunje Software, Mangaluru, organized a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled ‘Mastering Python: Emerging Trends and Innovations’, from February 3 to 7, at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal.

The FDP aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of faculty members in Python programming and its applications across various domains such as machine learning, data analysis, and artificial intelligence. Participants will gain hands-on experience in both fundamental and advanced programming concepts, covering topics like basics of Python, machine learning, image processing, deep learning, power bi, and micro-Python. The final day of the FDP is dedicated to project development.

G K Bhat, from Kakunje Software Mangaluru, who shared valuable insights on Python programming. The principal and the secretary emphasized the significance of such faculty development programmes in equipping educators with cutting-edge technological skills and keeping them abreast of emerging engineering trends.

The programme was inaugurated on February 3. A lamp-lighting ceremony marked the official launch of the FDP.

The ceremony commenced with an invocation by Sachin Prabhu K, assistant professor (senior) department of ECE, followed by a welcome address by Arun Upadhyaya. Chetan R introduced the resource person G K Bhat.

The inauguration concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Shilpa Kamath, while Akshatha Rao compered the programme.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including, Ratnakumar secretary of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust Udupi, Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat principal of SMVITM, Arun Upadhyaya in-charge HoD, and Dr Shilpa Kamath associate professor department of ECE SMVITM.
