Mangaluru, Feb 3: Carmel School CBSE, Kotekar, hosted a memorable farewell programme on February 3, 2025, to bid a fond farewell to its beloved grade 10 students.
The cultural extravaganza, themed Adios 2025 – Celebrating Growth, Embracing Change, commenced at 2 pm with a creative welcome orchestrated by the grade 1 students. Distinguished guests, including Sr Juliyana Mary AC, joint secretary; Sr Pramila AC, principal; Sr Anitha AC, vice-principal; Sr Fidele, coordinator; and class teachers Swetha and Vanisha, graced the occasion.
A prayerful ambiance was set with a soulful prayer song, invoking blessings for the programme. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the pursuit of wisdom. The flame was then passed to head girl Thanishka, who, along with her classmates, took a solemn oath to carry forward the light of knowledge and integrity into the future.
The event continued with a formal welcome address by Tawha, setting an energetic tone for the celebration. The cultural segment opened with a mesmerizing welcome dance, followed by a soulful rhythmic performance that added grace and emotional depth. The energy then soared with an electrifying boys’ dance, perfectly complementing the earlier acts. A thought-provoking skit on career planning highlighted the challenges and rewards of hard work and perseverance, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
Interwoven throughout the event were spot games and dance performances, adding moments of joy and interaction. The farewell segment featured a heartfelt song, personal reflections from Thanishka and Prathika, and a nostalgic video montage capturing cherished memories of the students' journey.
Sr Pramila AC addressed the gathering with an inspiring message, emphasizing that character, perseverance, and resilience matter more than mere academic achievements. She encouraged students to embrace new opportunities, support one another, and uphold the values of integrity as they step into the next phase of their lives.
In a touching moment, the principal expressed gratitude to the parents of the grade 10 students for entrusting their children to the school’s care. She also acknowledged the grade 9 students for their efforts in making the event a resounding success.
As a token of appreciation, mementos were presented to the departing students, and badges were pinned by parents and teachers, symbolizing their lasting bond with their alma mater.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Nirali. The event was seamlessly compered by Anora and Ayisha Rifa, ensuring a smooth and engaging flow throughout.
