Rajkot, Jan 27: The Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian team arrived in Rajkot on Sunday for the third T20I against England, scheduled to be held at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Tuesday. The players received a warm welcome from enthusiastic fans who gathered to catch a glimpse of their cricketing heroes.
India currently leads the five-match T20I series 2-0. In the second match held at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, the hosts secured a thrilling two-wicket victory while chasing 166. Tilak Varma starred with an unbeaten 78, laced with five sixes and four fours, guiding India to victory with four balls to spare.
The series began on a dominant note for India, as they registered a commanding seven-wicket win in the opener at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. With momentum on their side, the Men in Blue will look to seal the series in the third game. Both teams are set to begin their practice sessions on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced squad changes due to injuries. Shivam Dube and Ramandeep Singh have been added to the team as replacements for Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh.
The BCCI released a statement confirming the injuries. Nitish Reddy suffered a side strain during a practice session in Chennai and has been ruled out of the series. He will undergo further management at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Rinku Singh, who sustained a low back spasm while fielding in the first T20I, has also been ruled out of the second and third matches, though he is recovering under the supervision of the medical team.
