Mangaluru, Jan 26: The student enrichment programme organized by Carmel School CBSE, Kotekar, on January 20 began with all Catholic students in attendance. The session aimed to nurture the students' spiritual growth and strengthen their connection with God.
The programme commenced with a heartfelt prayer song led by the students, invoking God’s blessings. This was followed by an action song, performed enthusiastically by the students, setting a joyful and prayerful tone for the day.
Teacher Prafulla extended a warm welcome to the gathering and introduced the esteemed resource persons: Brother Jithesh and his wife, Sister Margarita, and Irene. The session was structured into four meaningful segments.
The first session was led by Brother Jithesh where he shared his inspiring life story, recounting how God’s grace helped him overcome significant challenges, including his struggle with alcohol addiction. He emphasised God’s constant protection and transformative power in his life. Through his testimony, he encouraged the students to deepen their faith, recognise God as the one true living God, and remain steadfast in their spiritual journey despite hardships in life.
The second session was led by Sister Margarita in which she enlightened the students about the holy spirit’s role in their lives. She explained the power of the holy spirit in guiding and protecting believers and how the spirit answers prayers and leads one on the right path. Her session provided a deeper understanding of how the holy spirit empowers Christians to live faithfully and purposefully.
The day’s spiritual journey reached its zenith with the Holy Mass, offered by Father Rudolph OCD. The sacred service brought a sense of unity and peace to all attendees.
Third session was led by Irene.
Irene focused on the importance of respecting elders, especially teachers. She highlighted the dedication, sacrifices, and hard work of teachers, which are often taken for granted. She urged the students to value their teachers’ efforts by being respectful, attentive, and diligent in class. She also advised them to avoid unnecessary distractions and to pray for God’s wisdom and knowledge to achieve their goals.
Following all sessions, an adoration service was held, during which students and teachers participated in personal prayers. The adoration provided a deeply healing and uplifting experience, strengthening the participants’ relationship with God.
The programme concluded with another action song, performed joyfully by the students, celebrating their faith and the lessons learned throughout the session. The day ended with a vote of thanks, delivered by Princita D’Souza, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the resource persons, teachers, and everyone who contributed to the success of the event. A concluding prayer marked the end of this spiritually enriching session, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees.
This "Spiritual Enlightenment" session was a transformative experience that encouraged students to deepen their faith, seek the guidance of the holy spirit, and foster respect and gratitude towards their elders and teachers.
