Mangaluru, Jan 25: Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Dakshina Kannada District local branch, Mangaluru in association with Srinivas College of Pharmacy Mangaluru celebrated "National Pharmacy Week - 2024-25", with the theme “Think Health Think Pharmacy” at Valachil Campus from January 23 to 29 on blended mode.
On Jan 23, chief guest, T P Sujith, deputy drugs controller, Mangaluru, inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp and called upon the student pharmacists to grab the opportunities; hold the responsibility of ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines to improve the health and well-being of the public and bring name and fame to our profession to serve the society.
Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor, Srinivas University & vice-president, A Shama Rao Foundation, Mangaluru in his presidential remarks called young pharmacists to actively participate in such programmes and acquire more extracurricular and pharmacy knowledge to shape their personality and blessed all young pharmacists to serve actively.
Arun Kumar Shetty president, SKDCDA, Mangaluru appreciated the students for choosing the nobel profession who have a wider role in health care sector and advised budding pharmacists to acquire more knowledge for safe and rational use of medicines and to serve the community in a better way.
Bharathi N Rai senior, community pharmacist, Ganesh Medicals, B C Road was felicitated in recognition of her services in community pharmacy.
Dr E V S Subrahmanyam, professor & vice-president, IPA, Mangaluru read out the citation of Bharathi N Rai.
Dr A R Shabaraya, programme convener of National Pharmacy Week 2024-25, president, IPA, Mangaluru and principal, Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Valachil, Mangaluru highlighted about the Pharmacy week celebration, introduced and welcomed the guests.
Dr Padma P Prabhu and Smitha Rai anchored the programme. Dr Viresh K Chandur proposed the vote of thanks.
