Mangaluru, Jan 25: The department of journalism and mass communication of St Agnes College (Autonomous) organized an insightful seminar titled 'Understanding Fake News: Spotting the Truth Online' on January 24. Led by the dedicated third-year students under the guidance of  Anusha Bhat, the seminar focused on equipping students with the skills to recognize misinformation, promote critical thinking, and enhance digital literacy in today's digital age.

The session was both engaging and interactive, encouraging active participation from the students and fostering valuable discussions. The students of grade VII walked away with practical strategies for identifying and addressing fake news online.

The school extended its heartfelt gratitude to the organizers for conducting this enriching session and acknowledged the commendable efforts of principal Sr Maria Sarika AC for making this important seminar possible. Such initiatives are a testament to the institution’s unwavering commitment to preparing students to navigate the complexities of the digital world with confidence and discernment.
