YEN-REFINED organises valedictory programme of 20-day short term course

Mangaluru, Jan 16: YEN-REFINED, Yenepoya Research Centre for finance and entrepreneurship development, a Research Centre of The Yenepoya Institute of arts, science, commerce, and management (YIASCM), Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), organised the 20th session of its short-term course on 'Submission Criteria' on January 4. The session, conducted by Dr Niyaz Panakaje, of YEN-REFINED, provided participants with comprehensive guidance on the journal submission process for Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), and ABDC-listed journals. It focused on equipping researchers with essential knowledge and strategies to navigate submission requirements effectively, highlighting key aspects to ensure successful publication.

Dr Niyaz explained the critical steps in selecting a journal, emphasizing the importance of checking journal rankings, indexing, and specifications to ensure alignment with the research scope.

He cautioned participants against submitting papers through unofficial channels such as personal emails or LinkedIn links, warning them about potential scams in the academic publishing space. The session also included a live demonstration of submitting a paper to the Journal of Islamic Marketing, showcasing how to review submission guidelines, verify journal authenticity, and adhere to specified formats and requirements. Dr Niyaz provided practical insights into navigating submission portals, avoiding common errors, and ensuring compliance with the journal's criteria. The session equipped participants with the essential knowledge to manage the submission process effectively and securely.

Following the session, the valedictory program marked the conclusion of the 20-days short-term course. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Prof Arun A Bhagwath, principal of YIASCM and dean - faculty of science, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), and Dr Niyaz Panakaje, along with online and offline participants comprising researchers and faculty members. Dr Shakira Irfana, associate professor and MC for the event, welcomed the audience and set the tone for the valedictory proceedings. Dr Niyaz Panakaje addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude to all participants, resource persons, and the organizing team for their contributions to the programmes success. He highlighted the importance of initiatives like YEN-REFINED short-term course in empowering researchers with the tools and techniques required for high-quality academic writing and publication.

Prof Arun A Bhagwath delivered an inspiring valedictory address, congratulating the participants for their commitment and applauding the organizers for creating a well-structured and impactful course. He emphasized the significance of such programs in enhancing research quality and achieving global academic visibility. The programme concluded with the certificate distribution ceremony, announced by Mural Henrita Cutinha, where the resource persons, including Dr Niyaz Panakaje, Dr Shakira Irfana, Dr Madhura K, and S M Riha Parvin, were honoured with certificates in recognition of their valuable contributions. Certificates were then distributed to all participants, acknowledging their successful completion of the course. The event ended on a positive note, marking the culmination of a transformative 20-day journey of knowledge sharing and skill development, leaving the participants inspired and well-equipped to excel in their academic pursuits.
