Kasargod, Jan 12: A two-year-old boy tragically died after a pistachio shell became lodged in his throat at Kumble.

The incident occurred on Saturday, January 11, in the evening when the child, Anas, son of Anwar Mehroof and Shahnaz of Bhaskar Nagar, Kumble, was eating pistachios at home.

A shell got stuck in his throat, and though his family managed to remove part of it, they rushed him to the hospital. After a medical check-up, doctors confirmed there was no obstruction, and the child was sent home.

However, on Sunday morning, the child began to struggle with breathing. He was rushed back to the hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he passed away.

Anwar, who had recently returned from the Gulf, rushed back to the village upon hearing the heartbreaking news. Family sources confirm that the tragedy has left the family devastated.

I think they had taken child to ayurvedic or just mbbs doctors. It is better to always go to a specialist doctor. Parents and doctors should always do all the necessary test if required like scopy to rule out any danger. Patients should not suspect doctor of doing unwanted tests nor should doctor worry about losing a patient if he prescribed expensive tests. Coz ultimately thinking about money, a life is lost

So sad and heartbreaking.Firs of all parents made the mistake of giving Pistazia with shell two years old child.Second they should have held the child upside down and just try to put a finger in throat so that whatever in throat is come out.Why doctor too didnt find out something left back in lungs ?So sad.Heartfelt sympathy to family .Always one has to be careful giving small children .May the soul of the child be with angels.

It was primarily the responsibility of the parents or family members to remove such dry fruits / shells from in front of small children. A few years ago, a similar case occurred where a mother fed her small child chakli, resulting in the child's death."
