Mangaluru, Dec 21: Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM) successfully concluded its two-day international conference and student symposium on December 21.
The event brought together eminent researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and students to foster knowledge sharing, academic discourse, and collaboration in engineering and technology.
The event commenced with an invocation by Dr Manjunath, from the mechanical department, creating an auspicious beginning. The master of ceremony duties were skillfully handled by Sthuthi, assistant professor, department of basic science, and Mallya Ananth Mohan, assistant professor (senior grade), department of mechanical engineering, ensuring the smooth flow of the programme.
Dr Shilpa Kamath, associate professor of the ECE department, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the institution's commitment to fostering research and innovation through such events.
The conference comprised two key tracks:
• MEEMS 2024: Materials, Energy, Environment and Manufacturing Sciences
• CISC 2024: Computational Intelligence and Smart Communication
The conference and symposium reports were presented by:
• MEEMS 2024: Dr Raja Yathish Yadav, HoD, mechanical engineering department.
• CISC 2024 and student symposium: Dr Sowmya J Bhat, HoD, computer science and engineering department.
The chief guest, Dr U C Niranjan, director of research and training at Manipal Dot Net Pvt. Ltd., graced the event with his enlightening address. He highlighted two key benefits of attending international conferences: gaining insights into the latest technologies and building networks with esteemed professionals.
Dr Niranjan also praised the exceptional performance of an engineering graduate from the college who joined his organisation, Manipal Dot Net Pvt. Ltd. Additionally, he commended the management for organising a remarkable two-day conference, which provided valuable opportunities for research scholars and students. He was introduced by Swathi, assistant professor, department of Chemistry, whose words reflected his exceptional contributions to the field.
The "Best Paper" awards were announced by Dr Ganesh Aithal, vice-principal, and presented by the chief guest, recognising the outstanding research work of participants and inspiring further excellence in academic pursuits.
Prof Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal of SMVITM, delivered a motivating address, appreciating the efforts of the organizing committee, faculty members, and participants in making the event a resounding success.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Sunil Haldankar, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the conference and symposium.
The two-day event proved to be a vibrant platform for intellectual exchange, innovation, and collaboration, conforming SMVITM’s reputation as a hub of academic and research excellence.
