Mangaluru: Yenepoya Nursing College celebrates 19th Graduation Day

Mangaluru, Dec 17: The Yenepoya Nursing College celebrated 19th Graduation Day on December 16, in the Yendurance Zone, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) campus, Deralakkatte. A total of 147 of undergraduates were conferred their degrees. The event commenced with a procession of the graduates, followed by invocation. Dr Leena KC, dean, presided over the proceedings.

Dr Deepika C Khakha, nursing advisor, government of India was the chief guest. Dr Khakha in her address emphasized on nursing practice that is value driven & quality focused. She advised graduates to be empathetic in the era of artificial intelligence.

The guest of honor Dr H R Thimmaiah, district health and family Welfare officer, Dakshina Kannada said that nursing profession is a noble, sought after profession where ethical practice is important. He advised the graduates to master communication and soft skills which enhances their learning and improves client satisfaction.

Another guest of honour Dr B H Sripathi Rao, pro vice chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) asked the graduates to update their knowledge and skills. He also said that every student has a innate potential and they need to use it in a right way.

Candidates were presented by Janet Miranda, Dr Binsha Pappachan C and Dr Viji Prasad C. Outstanding students with exceptional academic performance received medals and certificates.

Dr Priya Reshma Aranha, vice principal, welcomed the gathering. Prof Shashikumar Jawadagi delivered the vote of thanks. Pavithra and Vineesha compered the programme.
