Media Release

Bengaluru, Nov 23: CHRIST (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with the Indo-Pacific Circle (IPC), Centre for East Asian Studies (CEAS), and the Council for Strategic and Defense Research (CSDR), has introduced a new Indo-Pacific curriculum. The initiative was formally launched by US consul general Chris Hodges at the university's central campus on November 23.

Funded by the US Consulate General in Chennai, the Indo-Pacific curriculum is freely accessible on the IPC website. It provides a valuable resource for scholars, students, and the general public to explore the social, political, and environmental dynamics of the Indo-Pacific region.

During the launch, consul general Hodges highlighted the US's commitment to fostering educational collaborations that promote a deeper understanding of the Indo-Pacific.

The curriculum includes a series of online lectures by 18 academics from India and the Indo-Pacific region. Topics covered include the diversity of the Indo-Pacific, trade and demographics, regional challenges, nuclear discourse, climate change, and security issues.

The event was graced by vice chancellor Fr Jose CC and professor Dr Manoharan, director of CHRIST University's Centre for East Asian Studies. The launch of the curriculum marks another milestone in the university’s commitment to imparting accessible knowledge and promoting regional understanding.
