New Delhi, Apr 16: Global pop icon Ed Sheeran kicked off his India tour in cinematic style by performing his upcoming track ‘Azizam’ on a sun-drenched rooftop in Old Delhi, set against a vibrant skyline dotted with kites and winter hues.

Using his signature loop pedal setup, Sheeran delivered a soulful live rendition, weaving layers of guitar, piano, and vocals with finesse. “I loved learning Azizam on the loop pedal my mind goes into full jigsaw puzzle mode figuring out what fits where,” he shared.

The track will feature on his soon-to-release album Play, which also includes a much-anticipated collaboration with Arijit Singh.

Calling the performance a ‘tribute to India, culture, and connection,’ Sheeran also teased the official music video for ‘Azizam’, set to release Thursday. Taking to Instagram, he shared a quirky BTS photo dump—featuring everything from learning Persian pronunciations via FaceTime, soaking in Persian wedding vibes with director Saman Kesh, to a dip in a giant bowl of Tahdig.

“I grew up attending Irish weddings, and this was a totally different yet equally joyous experience,” Sheeran wrote, reflecting on filming the vibrant wedding-themed video.

With the video dropping Thursday and a remix version out Friday, fans are bracing for a multi-cultural musical celebration from Ed that bridges East and West with heartfelt harmony.
