Mangaluru: St Theresa's School celebrates Children's Day

Mangaluru, Nov 14: St Theresa's School celebrated Children's Day with immense enthusiasm and cheer. To mark the occasion, a Holy Eucharist was celebrated on November 13, led by Fr Denzil Lobo, assistant parish priest of Bendur.

Fr Lobo inspired students to cherish their childhood, express gratitude to God for the blessings received, and uphold Christian values. The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) added to the celebration by distributing ice cream, bringing smiles to the students.

The school grounds transformed into a vibrant celebration themed 'Sparkling Smiles, Endless Hopes' on November 14. Esteemed alumnus and founder of Vinith D’Costa & Associates, Vinith D’Costa, attended as the chief guest, along with school correspondent Sr Shaila and PTA vice president Collette Cabral.

The event commenced with a solemn prayer service, followed by an energetic dance performance and a greeting song. Head boy Jake Fernandes and head girl Ishani were presented with bouquets by Sr Shaila, while primary head boy Shanon D’Costa and head girl Presha Alva were honoured by Sr Lourdes.

In his speech, Dcosta expressed his pride in his alma mater, acknowledging the school's role in his success. He emphasized the values of perseverance and resilience, encouraging students to pursue their aspirations.

Sr Shaila inaugurated the fancy fete by releasing bubbles, symbolizing unity and joy. The event featured an array of captivating activities, including food stalls, thrilling games, and a variety of engaging events.

The celebration boasted a wide assortment of treats at the food and game stalls, offering delights such as cakes, brownies, cookies, potato twisters, and refreshing drinks. Students eagerly participated in games like car racing, 7 Up Down, hook-the-bottle, ring toss, and a fortune wheel. Additional attractions, including Housie, an auction, and dynamic music and dance performances, created lasting memories for everyone, making it an unforgettable day.
