M'luru: St Agnes PU College celebrates 'Library Week 2024' with theme 'Empowering Through Knowledge'

Mangaluru, Nov 13: Library Week 2024 was celebrated starting on November 5 at St Agnes PU College with the theme, "Empowering Through Knowledge".

The day began with a brief introduction by Rochelle Joan, highlighting the objectives and significance of the event. Following this, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to inaugurate the book exhibition. The college librarian, Dr Tressy Menezes, welcomed its guest with a potted plant.

Dr P V Shobha, a distinguished academic and special guest, delivered an inspiring opening speech, emphasising the timeless value of books and their role in expanding perspectives, nurturing creativity, and empowering individuals with knowledge. Sr Janet Sequeira, the vice-principal, along with many staff and students, attended the inauguration.

A wide array of books, including new releases and classics across multiple genres, was displayed by Navakarnataka Publications to attract readers of all ages.

Several competitions were held for students and staff, including book review, just-a-minute, book face painting, and a treasure hunt.

The book exhibition continued for three days, during which many curious students and staff purchased books for themselves.
