Mangaluru: 10-day grand Dasara celebration inaugurated at Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple

Mangaluru, Oct 3: Former union minister B Janardhana Poojary inaugurated the 10-day grand Dasara celebration at Kudroli Gokarnatheshwara Temple on Thursday, October 3.

Dasara Mahotsava will be held from October 3 to October 14, featuring various cultural and spiritual programs.

Idols of goddesses Navadurga and Sharada were installed, with Goddess Sharada’s idol being carried in a simple procession within the temple premises. A tiger dance was performed before the installation.

Throughout the nine days, various spiritual rituals will be conducted for the deity. The grand procession for the Dasara celebration will begin on October 13 at 4 PM.

In conjunction with Mangaluru Dasara, a half marathon will be held on October 6. While a walkathon was organized last year, this year’s event will feature a 21 km half marathon, with more than 2,000 participants expected to take part.
