Mangaluru, Oct 2: Institute of Port, Shipping and Logistics Management, Srinivas University, and New Mangalore Port Authority, Panambur jointly organised a successful cleanliness drive at Thanirbavi beach under the "Swachhta Hi Seva" programme.
Dedicated NSS volunteers enthusiastically collected plastic waste and non-recyclable materials, promoting public hygiene and environmental sustainability. Under the guidance of dean, Dr Sonia Noronha, the drive aimed to promote public hygiene, environmental sustainability, and community awareness.
A 4.5-km marathon was also conducted as part of the event, where students held placards and banners spreading awareness about cleanliness and the importance of protecting the environment. The marathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, who demonstrated their commitment to the cause.
This collaborative initiative demonstrates the commitment of Institute of Port, Shipping and Logistics Management, Srinivas University, and New Mangalore Port Authority towards a cleaner and greener Mangaluru.
