Kasargod: Three Fishing Boats Capsize, All 14 on Board Rescued

Kasargod, Nov 27: Three boats were trapped at sea off Kasaba shore near here due to stormy waves on Sunday November 27 morning. Fortunately, all the 14 members on board were rescued by another boat.
The three mechanized boats ventured into the sea from Kasaba and Kiyyor sea shore early morning. At around 7 am when the boats were returning, they got trapped in the high waves and capsized.
The boats, fishing net and other materials were damaged in the incident. In all, around Rs 40 lac loss has been estimated.
The boats that capsized are Al Amin belonging to A B Aamu, Kundooru belonging to Subrahmanya and Ermol boat belonging to K T Rajan. The incident took place around 20 nautical miles away from the Kasargod Kasaba seashore.
Balan (38), Gunakar (50), Parameshwar (47), his brother Kumar (45), Vasanth (35), Ramanan (48), Vijesh (24), Santhosh (35), Rafiq (32), Shreeni (37), Bivesh (24) of Kadappura and K T Rajan, Balan, Prakash of Kiyyur are the boatmen who were rescued. They have been admitted to Kasargod general hospital.
The sea has been violent and heavy wind and high tidal waves have been lashing the coast all through.
