Moodbidri, Oct 1: Carmel School witnessed the grand inauguration of its Alumni Association on September 27. The event was graced by chief guest Dr Kurian principal of Alvas College along with Sr Maria Gracilda AC the principal, Sr Elena AC the administrator, Sr Preena AC the vice principal and Sr Ranitha the coordinator. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by the school band followed by a march-past performed by the scouts, guides and cubs as they made their way to the school auditorium.
The inaugural ceremony commenced with an invocation seeking the blessings of the Almighty through a melodious hymn. The dignitaries were then welcomed with a captivating welcome dance setting the tone for the day. Head girl Shiba delivered a heartwarming welcome speech after which Sr Maria Gracilda presented Dr Kurian with a potted plant as a token of respect and appreciation.
The students organized an entertaining program which included a skit that beautifully depicted the theme of alumni unity and their everlasting bond with the school. Their melodious singing transported the audience to a magical realm and a theme-based dance further elevated the ambiance.
In his insightful address Dr Kurian touched upon several key points: The importance of maintaining a balanced timetable for both studies and extracurricular activities. His appreciation for the discipline upheld in Carmel School. The significance of ensuring the safety and well-being of the girl child. A reminder for students to listen to their teachers and parents above all else. A thought-provoking story about a tiger's tail symbolizing the challenges of life. A call to remain positive and guard against negativity in our surroundings.
Following the chief guest's speech Sr Maria Gracilda addressed the students and alumni. She highlighted the legacy of former students and posed a thought-provoking question to the audience Why is Carmel School a brand? She emphasized the importance of preparing effective timetables for studies and encouraged the alumni to remain connected to the school.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Anvisha Cutinha expressing gratitude to all who made the day special. As a gesture of appreciation Sr Preena presented a memento to the chief guest. The event was excellently compered by Keerthan Salian.
The inauguration of the Carmel Alumni Association was a memorable and heartwarming occasion bringing together former students to celebrate their bond with the school and to inspire future generations.
