Udupi, Sep 17: Moodlakatte Institute of Technology (MITK), Kundapura, hosted its first international conference in hybrid mode on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science, marking a significant milestone in the institution's history, on September 17 and 18.
The event was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Indravijay Singh, HoD AIML and the conference chair emphasised the interdisciplinary nature of the conference and how AI and ML are becoming integral to daily life. Dr Singh also pointed out the conference’s focus on integrating AI and ML in fisheries, a topic of immense relevance for both students and faculty. He expressed his happiness for the number and quality of the national and international papers to be presented in this conference.
Dr Purushottam G B, senior scientist from ICAR - Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Karwar, discussed the latest inventions and advancements in AI and ML across various fields. He briefed about AIML introduced in fisheries.
Dr Abdul Kareem, principal of MITK, spoke about the rapidly evolving market demands and the challenges in updating academic syllabi to match these developments. He encouraged collaboration between engineers and the fisheries sector, underlining the importance of such technical conferences for students and professionals alike.
Professor Sushma Shetty introduced the guest speaker, Dr Purushottam G B. Fathima proposed the vote of thanks. Meghana mastered the ceremony.
The formal event concluded with the National Anthem.
