Mangaluru: Srinivas University organizes inter-collegiate cultural fest 'Kala Avishkar 2024'

Mangaluru, Sep 4: Srinivas University Institute of Port, Shipping & Logistics Management organised an inter-collegiate cultural fest 'Kala Avishkar 2024' on September 4 at Srinivas University city campus Pandeshwar.

The event was inaugurated by S Shanthi, deputy chairperson of the New Mangalore Port Authority, Panambur. In her address, she emphasized the importance of cultural activities alongside education, stating that participation is more valuable than winning.

The programme was presided over by the honourable chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, who advised the students to develop their talents and personalities in both academic and non-academic areas, as this holistic development is what society will appreciate in the future. He highlighted that Srinivas University aims to nurture good human beings who will serve society.

The chief guest of the programme, honourable pro-chancellor of Srinivas University Dr A Srinivas Rao said stating that success is the experience students gain here, and competitions are crucial for building a promising future. He noted that the university provides students with opportunities to organize, participate, and shape their bright futures.

Distinguished guests at the event included Vijayalakshmi R Rao and Prof Er A Mitra S Rao, members of the board of governors of Srinivas University; Dr Satyanarayana Reddy, vice chancellor of Srinivas University; and Dr Ajay Kumar, development registrar of Srinivas University.

The cultural fest saw enthusiastic participation from 700 students representing various colleges. Competitions included group dance, fashion show, mehndi drawing, pencil sketching, face painting, flower rangoli, photography, and galli cricket.

Dr Sonia Noronha, dean of the Institute of Port, Shipping & Logistics Management, welcomed the gathering. Prof Bhavya Krishna Nayak introduced the event, while Prof Souparnika and Prof Akshatha Samson served as the event’s emcees.

The fest was a vibrant celebration of talent and creativity, showcasing the diverse skills of students from across the region.
