Kolkata, Nov 17 : India is just seven wickets away from a series win against the West Indies at Kolkata. On the third day of the second test match against West Indies, India put up a spirited show by bowling out the visitors for 153 runs in the first innings. Following on, West Indies played carefully and ended the day at 195 for the loss of three wickets.
India's left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha, who took six wickets in the first test at Delhi, was once again the front runner among first innings wickets takers. He took 4 wicksts for 64 and reached his first milestone of 50 wickets in test cricket.
On the other end, India's new pace sensation Umesh Yadav bowled some fine deliveries to get three wickets. R Ashwin took two, while Kemar Roch was run out by Ojha.
Forced to follow on, West Indies started their second innings watchfully, and openers Barath and Brathwaite put together 23 before Umesh Yadav took the wicket of Brathwaite. Barath and Edward then put 97 runs together and showed some recovery, but Ishant Sharma took his first wicket of the test when he sent Barath back to the pavillion. Edwards too followed a little later when Ishant trapped him LBW.
The Windies Mr Reliable Chanderpaul is at the crease at 21 and the well-settled Bravo is batting at 38.
Day 4 will be key for both the teams as India need to get seven Windies wickets by today to grab an innings victory. The chances for West Indies' survival look bleak as spin bowlers could dominate day 4 once again.
Breaking Bravo-Chanderpaul partnership would be the key factor for India.
