Brahmavar, Aug 16: GM Vidyaniketan Public School and GM Global School jointly celebrated the 78th Independence Day with immense enthusiasm. The event witnessed the presence of former Indian Army soldier Suresh C Rao as the chief guest.
In his address, Rao emphasized the significance of the sacrifices made by numerous great leaders through their Satyagraha movements and struggles, which led to India’s independence. He urged everyone to remember the hard work and sacrifices of these heroes and highlighted the importance of living harmoniously without infringing on others' freedoms under the Constitution.
The school's principal, George Kurian, hoisted the national flag and extended his greetings to everyone present. Prakashchandra Shetty, President of the institution, also addressed the gathering, stressing the role of quality education and cultural values in building a strong nation. He encouraged the youth to draw inspiration from achievers and strive to build a better country.
The sight of thousands of students proudly waving the tricolor was a testament to their patriotic fervor. The Scouts and Guides, along with the students of GM Global School, presented an impressive march-past. The cultural programs by the students spread the essence of unity and patriotism among the attendees.
The event was graced by the presence of Pranav Shetty principal of GM Global School, Shreema Pranav Shetty, Nagaraj Somayaji, Deepti Shetty, parents, teachers, and students.
