Mangaluru, Aug 15: Independence Day is significant as it commemorates the velour and spirit of the freedom fighters who fought for the independence of the nation from British rule. The day is recognized as that of national pride and honor, with Prime Minister’s hoisting the flag and addressing the country from the Red Fort every year.
First Steps Pre-School, Kudroli celebrated 78th Indian Independence Day on Thursday, August 15 in its premises. To mark the celebration, a fancy dress competition was held for the tiny tots.
The kids actively participated and were very happy and excited about the costumes they wore.
Parents were equally thrilled and overwhelmed due to their child’s participation. The enthusiastic kids enacted characters of freedom fighters.
The variety of freedom fighters costumes worn by kids showed the parents enthusiasm and active participation to bring out their kid’s talent.
Chairman of Shareef Educational and Charitable Trust, Distinguished Toast Master (DTM) Shameer Ahmed wished all the participants and explained the purpose of Independence Day celebration as well as conducting such an event to build up the confidence and creative culture in kids. Subsequently a cake cutting ceremony was held.
He thanked the parents for their support and encouragement so that the students are able to become good citizens of our country. Conducting such events helps the students to gain confidence and also to become an ideal citizen of India, he said.
Teacher Himna S Ahmed elaborated the event and thanked all the students and parents for their involvement to make the occasion a grand success. Coordinators and trustee Sufiyan S Ahmed, Shehzan S Ahmed and teacher Rameeza assisted and ensured the smooth flow the event without any technical glitches.
The programme magnificently concluded with vote of thanks.
